In the light of the economic crisis to which some of the greatest countries in the world, more people are becoming practical and opt to choose the netbook over other regular-sized fully enhanced laptops. Currently, there are thousands of netbook models coming from various manufacturers. One of the popular manufacturers is HP.

For HP netbooks, there are six models to choose from as of this writing. These are:

Mini 110

Studio Tord Boontje

Mini 210

Mini 201 Vivienne Tam

Mini 311

Mini 5102

For a single model, HP can have a hundred variations from the original model. For those who want to buy a netbook, HP netbook options give a lot of choices. Usually, due to a tight budget, most people would only prefer a netbook that can serve them well according to the applications they need to run. For instance, if the netbook will be used only for low-memory requirement applications, they would practically choose a 1-gig RAM with 160-gig hard drive, which is the lowest specification netbooks have today.

Originally, netbooks are created specifically for internet browsing. But as newer models are introduced, more and more features are crammed to fit the lightweight and smaller sized netbooks. As a result, there has been an on-going confusion between a notebook and a netbook. But for the consumer, the confusion doesn’t really matter as long as they can do what they needed to do with the mobile computer.

Performance and features aside, HP has also taken fashion and trendy options for those who want to carry stylish HP mini cases. Although the netbook is already a fashion statement, it is now accentuated with a “bolder” fashion statement by integrating the name of one of popular fashion clothes designer such as Vivienne Tam and interior designer Tord Boontje. But along with the stylish design, these designer netbooks are far cry from other netbooks having a loaded functionality. The buyer has the option to upgrade the netbook or leave it the way it is. And for the record, if you want an upgrade, of course you have to spend extra. For instance, if you want to upgrade the batteries into a 6-cell pack, you must add at least $25.00. For every upgrade, there is an additional cost.

In terms of the operating system, HP netbook options offer two of the most popular OS platform today: Windows 7 and Linux. But most models support Windows 7. These operating systems are sold separately and if you want to have one of them, you must add at least $40.00 (for licensed Windows 7)

As for the casing, HP is probably one of the sturdiest-built and most dependable around. It’s no wonder that some have shifted from Mac to HP because of these qualities, not only for netbooks, but for all HP computing devices.

In general HP netbooks are more expensive, but it’s a worthy buy. After all, it’s profitable to invest in a sturdy and dependable machine yet expensive rather than low-cost netbooks that can cause headaches after several months of use.

Although HP did not readily embraced the netbook trend that started just a few years back and started to manufacture these mini notebooks later than its competitors, the HP netbook sales has had a 23% increase during the first quarter of 2010 compared to the total 2009 netbook sales.

It is difficult to assess what particular HP netbook model has contributed to the increase in sales. To date, there are so many variations for each netbook model. For instance, the HP Mini 210 has three hundred forty (340) variations. One possible factor could be is that there are so many models and product specifications to choose from and any prospect buyer will surely do a lot of research before purchasing a worthy netbook that will suit his or her taste and preferences.

As a matter of fact, HP has a lot more to prove to the world in terms of netbook PCs. Despite the increase in sales, the HP manufacturers are not quite satisfied with this because other brands have more figures to tell. There are also reports coming from trusted sources that HP might definitely stop producing these 10-inch screen Intel Atom PCs and introduce the 11-inch AMD netbooks.

Yet as of this writing, HP has produced Touchsmart, a tablet notebook with a touchscreen feature as a way to move their netbook market share towards a more advanced notebook. In the first place, many manufacturers including HP, are reluctant to invest on netbooks due to its cheap selling price and yet high cost of production. The computer industry continues to survive during the 2008 and 2009 economic crisis mainly because of netbooks. But now that the economy is forecasted to gain leverage in the next few years, high-end laptops and notebooks might be in full bloom again. With this, HP can now compete with open arms for greater market share.

With the introduction of tablet touch-screen laptops, the HP netbook sales is expected to decline as more people will be enticed to buy the tablet notebook with the latest feature. Since Apple has released its newest product offering, the Ipad, HP on the other hand, has produced the Touchsmart to maintain its market share and boast its capacity to create same products such as touch-screen tablet notebooks.

However, the netbook’s greatest advantage is its cheap price. Of course, practical consumers will still prefer to purchase products with cheaper price than a laptop with high-end features. Albeit there are those who can afford to have the latest features, the netbook sales may decline but it will never diminish. Market prospects may include:

Young students

Young professionals or new graduates

Average and not-technically-inclined persons

Average housewives and house people

People with blue-collared jobs

People who are on a tight budget

College students who are always have the need to research in the internet

HP can decrease or entirely stop the production of netbooks, but definitely there will always be a prospect market for this declining-peak gadget.

Originally, most batteries of mobile PC devices were not designed to last for more than two hours. But due to constant upgrades brought about by the need to cope with the consumer’s ever increasing demand for the latest innovations, the battery life of most laptops and netbooks increased to four hours. Luckily, one of the brands that are gaining popularity is the HP.

HP has made a one-step above its competitors when it comes to battery strength. Even from the beginning when they stepped into the netbook market, the batteries are known to last longer than any other netbooks.

Of course, there are several factors to consider in evaluating the actual battery strength. Factors such as number of applications loaded at the same time, the power management set-up, screen brightness, the length of charging time and the age of battery. As batteries get older, the hours become lesser until it needs replacement.

As for the HP netbook batteries, here are some of the features that are worth mentioning:

The Lithium-ion batteries of these netbooks are designed to last for three (3) years. Most lithium-ion batteries are known to last for one and half year. With these, the Lithium ion HP netbook batteries stand longer than other lithium ion batteries.

Batteries are covered with warranty for three (3) years.

Batteries have two and a half hours charging time while the unit is turned off and three (3) to five (5) hours when it is on standby.

Battery power requires 47 kilowatt hours.

With longer battery life, HP netbooks help keep the environment safe. This can only mean that you the user will only have to replace the batteries once every three years. Unlike any other brand that batteries last for 18 months, this only means that you cut the number of possible litters from disposed batteries.

With such length of warranty to HP batteries, the most worthwhile buy can be the HP netbooks. Battery replacement can be acquired through:

HP stores

HP online stores

HP authorized stores

There are stores that offer HP batteries that are not directly affiliated with HP. Usually they give only one (1) year warranty on batteries that they supply. If you need battery replacements, make sure that these products come with an ISO product certification to ensure that you are getting the real and safe batteries for your HP netbook.

But before you buy, you have to make sure that you have the right battery model for your netbook. Remember that wrong batteries can be hazardous, damaging your unit and worse, cause fire. This is the most basic rule and perhaps this can only serve as a reminder for those who need battery replacement for their HP netbooks.

In addition to this, HP also maintains communications to other battery supplies to ensure the safety of the gadget and the user as well as maintain the standards these HP batteries should originally have. These battery standards conform to international regulations.

When it comes to purchasing a netbook, most people would like to view the specification and the corresponding price. They want it to be “loaded” or “packed” with the most modern features to make the most out of their internet browsing and other low-memory-requirement applications. Common notion is that the higher the price, the most advanced is the feature. It is noted that the sales of netbooks have significantly gets higher due to its small size and cheaper prize. Thanks to the advancement of the Wi-Fi technology and some establishment’s attempt to make their stores and shops an internet hotspot, the netbooks have outdone the sales figure of the traditional laptops.

There are a lot of brands that compete in the market. If you want to purchase a single netbook, you have to do a thorough research so that you can get the best deal. To do this, you have to compare the specifications of all netbooks product such as:

RAM Memory. The lowest RAM is 1 gigabyte.

The Hard disk space. The lowest hard disk size available is 160 gigabyte

Bluetooth device. This is an optional feature and may require an additional price.

Ethernet

Wi-Fi

USB Ports

Video output

LED LCD monitor

Built-in speakers and microphone

Webcam

Windows 7 operating system

256 MB graphics card

Purchasing a netbook requires a comparison of the product specification against the price. But somehow there are certain specifications that are not told such as durability and system stability which can only be determined while the netbook is being used. Buyers do always have a choice as to the specification of netbook they need basing on their computer activities. However the main purpose of the netbook is to simply surf the internet. It was previously not designed to perform several applications at the same time. On the other hand, due to the highly competitive market, these netbooks are now made with almost the same capabilities as the laptops and notebooks.

One of the netbook brands that are now gaining popularity is the HP netbook. HP has wider variety of laptop models that suits every type of mobile computing. It can really be a great deal is you will be able to find for discount Hp netbooks. There are four types of HP netbooks:

The Mini-PC companion that is suitable for browsing the internet at any Wi-fi zone. This netbook is ideal for people whose main use for a PC is to surf internet as well as for students who are constantly doing their school research.

The Everyday Computing PC that is suited for people who use PC for their everyday routine.

The lightweight tablet PC which travelers can use everywhere to do their office task.

High-performance netbooks loaded with features that can be regarded as the businessman’s office assistant.

HP has the most shelf space of any PC manufacturer at key retail locations such as Best Buy. This is a huge advantage and something that can’t be underestimated by HP’s competition. Several sites and technology magazines have been reviewing HP netbooks and also giving them ratings. Among them CNET and netviewreview.com requires mention. They not only review every aspect of these new launches netbooks by HP but they also ask the users to rate the product so that future users may decide whether to buy or not.

Here are a few HP’s netbook review excerpts:

A lot of netbooks look and feel like toys, but HP’s Mini 1000 Netbook with design cues borrowed from its Pavilion notebooks, making it the best looking netbook to date. This Mini 1000 is an excellent choice for anyone who understands the limitations of a netbook, likes the idea of simplicity and favors style over having a couple of extra ports and plugs. The Mini 1000 is a consumer netbook, which means it’s geared towards casual users, not business users who generally need more durable devices.

The HP Mini 311 is currently one of the best netbooks on the market, and has received a great review. But it looks like the HP 311 is only going to get better, with a number of optional upgrades becoming available soon. The 11.6-inch HP Mini 311 netbook is currently available with Windows XP operating system

HP recently announced their 13.3-inch Pavilon DM3 laptop, but it appears that they have another new model on its way, with a smaller size.

The HP Pavilion DM1 is an 11.6-inch thin and light model, much more on the size of typical netbooks. The HP DM1 is expected to feature an Intel CULV (consumer ultra low voltage) Celeron Dual-Core SU2300 processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM (supports upto 5GB), Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, a 320GB / 500GB hard drive, and have an 11.6 inch LED backlit LCD with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.

HP was actually an early player in the Netbook field. The HP Mini is a convenient alternative to carrying your primary notebook PC everywhere you go. Smaller and more portable than your notebook. HP was actually an early player in the Netbook field. The company’s business system side came up with the Mini-Note 2133 in spring 2008, with a solid brushed-metal chassis and a nearly full-size keyboard. Unfortunately, this predated Intel’s Atom CPU, and rather than using the Celeron processor that came with the very first Netbooks, HP went with an underpowered Via C7-M, which pretty much killed any chance it had of becoming a mainstream product. HP made another move into the mini-laptop, or netbook, market today, unveiling three models priced from $379-$699. They have the same basic hardware specs: they are each less than 1 inch thick, weigh a little over 2 pounds, and come with a built-in web cam and microphone. They’re powered by an Atom 1.6 GHz processor (the netbook processor of choice) and have a 1024-by-600 glass display with an LED backlight (8.9 or 10.2 inch diagonal display), an Ethernet jack, 2 USB ports, Wi-Fi ( 802.11bg WAN) and Bluetooth wireless capabilities, and a keyboard that is slightly smaller than standard size. You also have your choice of a solid state hard drive (SSD) or mechanical hard drive (HDD).

The first model available today is called the HP Mini 1000; it comes in black only, runs XP Home Edition and is priced at $399. The second model had its shell designed by fashionista Vivienne Tam and the look was debuted in New York last month when Tam unveiled her Spring collection. The final model is by far the most interesting one that HP has to offer. Priced at $379, the HP Mini 1000 with MIE (Mobile Internet Experience) is about as pure a netbook as you can get with web-only applications designed by HP.

All these netbooks have created a lot of speculations and interest among the computer savvy people. Reviews have also encouraged and ratings are also high making HP Netbooks a popular brand.

One of the reasons why netbooks are so popular nowadays is their small size other than its low price. They are easy to carry around and offer the utility of work and entertainment. One of the major players in the netbook market is HP. Details on upcoming HP notebooks have been leaked by some Dutch sites.

The new models according to these sites will include the 11.6-inch DM1, 13.3-inch DM3, and the 18.4-inch DV8. The DM1 will be based on Intel’s Consumer Ultra Low Voltage (CULV) platform, utilizing ULV Pentium Dual-Core and Core 2 processors, while the DM3 will replace the current dv2 and use an AMD Neo MV-40 single-core processor. The dv8 will use Intel Core i7 processors. All will come with Windows 7 Operating System. The dm1, which boasts of a 11.6-inch screen is based on ULV-processor Intel and is able to work out on a single charge the battery up to 9 hours. The dm1 PC series is for those who want the portability of a regular netbook, but with the technical specifications of a more performance-capable system. Pavilion dv8 has 18.4-inch HP Bright view Infinity Display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Fabulous for HD content viewing, HP added performance level Nvidia GeForce GT 230M graphics with 1GB dedicated video memory and HDMI out for taking HD content to larger HD screen. Prices indicate the dv8 will be around 1400 Euros (more like $1,400 in the U.S., since notebooks are traditionally more expensive in Europe) and the DM1 will be 480 Euros (probably $480 in the U.S.). A later version of the DM1 with better specifications will be 680 Euros (probably $680 in the U.S.).

The Pavilion TM2 has also been leaked; it is a tablet and expected to be similar to the current tx2. It is possible that the TM2 will not have an internal optical drive.

There are a lot of Netbooks available nowadays on the market that are so similar in terms of hardware and software that manufacturers have to find other ways to differentiate them–usually with aesthetics and design. The HP Mini 1000 Mi Edition (Mini 1110NR) is a pretty, low-cost netbook focused on easy Web access and entertainment. It uses the same design as the Mini 1000, but runs the Mobile internet (Mi) software rather than Windows. Hp Mini 1000 Mi Edition Series comes with Intel Atom Processor N270 – 1.60 ghz, 512 mb Ddr2 System Memory – 1 Dimm, 8gb – Solid State Drive Flash Module, Hp Mobile Internet – Mi Software Built On Linux.

The sleek Mi interface makes for an intuitive and easy user experience. The HP Mini 1000 Mi Edition uses the same design as the popular Mini 1000, but it runs HP’s Mobile Internet (Mi) software rather than Windows–a simplified interface that is much better than those found on other Linux Netbooks, such as the original Acer Aspire One and Asus Eee PC. The main feature of the interface is the convenience of HP’s Home screen, which gives you access to e-mail, Web, music, photos, and a program launcher through multiple launch panels, rather than a traditional desktop. For an Internet appliance-style design, it’s well done, but it will appeal to only a select audience. We suspect most will still want the flexibility and familiarity of Windows. The HP Mini 1000 Mi has a distinctive geometric pattern on its lid and the same large, comfortable keyboard as the XP version of the Mini 1000. While an aluminum chassis (as found on the similar HP Mini 2140) is generally preferable to one made from plastic, the construction of the Mini 1000 feels solid and durable. The 10.2-inch wide-screen LCD display offers a 1,024×600-pixel resolution,. Pitched as a self-contained solution, the custom interface and included software are the most important parts of this version of the Mini 1000.

Hewlett Packard (HP) is a name with a reasonable history in computing and office supplies so the fact that they have entered the netbook market is of no surprise and their name and branding alone will be enough to entice some customers. However, with so much competition in a growing market, there needs to be something extra offered for the money rather than just a good brand history so it is lucky that the HP 2133 netbook manages to offer a number of tangible benefits.

The size is an obvious factor in a netbook, it is bought to be portable and durable but thankfully the HP 2133 netbook still manages to go large on a number of features. There is a strong durability factor and there is no doubt it is an attractive machine. With a weight of 1.27kg, it should be perfectly transportable for any users, even children, which pass the first test of the netbook. If you are a main home user, this is not the machine for you but if you require flexibility from your computer, the alight yet reliable netbook will provide everything you need.

With 1GB memory and a hard-disk drive with room for 120GB, the HP 2133 netbook should be enough for any business or budding entrepreneur to keep on top of their workload. Although working from home and video conferencing is transforming the amount of travel a business person needs to undertake, it is still vital to have a computing option on the go and the amount of memory space that is offered from the modern range of netbooks will guarantee that no one is disappointed.
A quality LCD display will ensure you have clarity making web browsing a painless task and the scratch resistant surface should keep it in great condition for a long time. As the netbook will be carried about from place to place, it is inevitable that bumps and scrapes will occur but it should remain in good condition. There are obviously a host of accessories you can buy which will help you maintain the quality of the product but even without this option, the HP 2133 netbook should remain in great working order.

For all of the main categories that you can think of being important for a netbook, it is hard to see where there HP 2133 netbook doesn’t succeed. Combining fashion with functionality should ensure that this is a machine that everyone wants to be seen with and it has enough power to handle the hardest of tasks.
