When one mentions “OS X”, he is definitely associating the operating system with Apple computers. Well, this is true because it is bundled with Apple computing machines and you will not find any support for other computing machine that will use the OS X. As a short introduction, the OS X is the newest operating system of Mac laptops and desktops. It is the version 10, from the previous OS 9 that Apple computers are using before. Therefore the OS X is specifically designed for the Apple computer hardware. To use this on other computing machine is tantamount to fitting a square peg on a round hole. Most computer hardware works best with Windows or Linux because most average people prefer to use Windows. There are low-cost computers that can accommodate Windows XP. The OS X on the other hand is more popular with graphics designers and with those who can afford a Macbook.

The idea of using OS X on the Lenovo Netbook can be taken as some sort of experiment. Recently, the OS X was successfully installed on other computing machine. Typically Lenovo offers netbooks bundled with Windows 7, Vista, XP or Linux operating system. Having OS X running on Lenovo netbook is like trying to work out the impossible. Well, the installation of OS X was successful except for the following glitches:

The Ethernet is not working

The Wi-fi will only work after installing the needed component, which can be downloaded through websites offering it

The multi-touch is not also working but the buttons are fine

There is no sleep mode

The sound system is not supported

Other hardware works fine such as:

The webcam

USB ports – if you can’t use the net book’s Wi-Fi you can use the USB internet dongle

The touchpad buttons

Graphics card

You definitely need to patch components to make the OS X work on Lenovo. Fortunately, installation is relatively easy but to run this smoothly is definitely another story. In addition, there are other applications that are reported to crash on OS X but runs perfectly well on other operating system.

Most netbooks nowadays use the Intel Atom processor. A recent OS X upgrade had changed the way this operating system communicates with this computer hardware having the Intel Atom processor. There are reports and user reviews indicating the recent incompatibility issues brought about by the recent OS X upgrade. For whatever reason that the OS X creators and developers have in mind, there are always excellent hackers out there who would try their best to make possible the OS X running on Lenovo netbook.

Given the above-mentioned assumption becomes true, the question now here is: Is Lenovo netbooks ready to use the OS X on massive scale? The answer to this question will now depend if the OS X developers will be ready to embrace the idea of running the OS X on other computing machines other than the Apple Macbook.

For a person whose work takes more time on the road, one of the most essential things that he or she must have is a netbook. Purchasing a new netbook can be a cumbersome process as there are literally hundreds of models coming from various brands. One of the most trusted brands in terms of mobile computing is Lenovo.

For the record, there is a difference between netbook and notebook:

In terms of design, the netbook is built for browsing the internet and other small-sized memory applications while the notebook is a replacement of desktops. If your purpose is to surf websites while you are on the road, then the netbook is good for you. But if you want to run five applications at the same time, then use the notebook. In the point of view of the makers of computer processors, there is no difference between the notebook and the laptop.

In terms of size, the notebook is larger than the netbook.

Although both are portable devices, the netbook is relatively cheaper than the notebook.

Some may beg to disagree for the listed differences; the absolute difference now lies on the user’s perspective. But if the purpose is to perform various tasks, it is advisable to buy a portable computer that is packed with the necessary features for the smooth performance of your work.

Thanks to the existence of Wi-Fi technology, browsing the internet at anyplace less the cable wires is now possible. With such goodness, netbooks are now available for purchase at any computer stores. Computer manufacturers are now in a race to produce more netbooks at a competitive price. With Lenovo offering affordable prices, it is expected the Lenovo netbook sales will skyrocket, outdoing other mobile computing devices they have produced. Previously, IBM produced laptops that are packed with features and capabilities that are ideal to businesses and working professionals on travel. As the technology gears itself into the wireless and portable trend, more and more notebooks are produced to fit personal computing needs. Also with the existence of popular networking sites, more people are enticed to buy their own netbooks as Wi-Fi zones are also increasing.

When it comes to choosing the best brands, a lot of people are more inclined to choose Lenovo more than any other brand due to its stability and features.

Lenovo netbooks usually have the following features:

1 gigabyte RAM

Bluetooth 2.0

160-gigabytes hard drive

Wi-Fi technology

USB Ports

Webcam

Four-in-one memory card slot

Headphone and microphone jacks

Built-in speakers

10 inch screen

Ethernet port

Video output

3-hours battery life, with an option to install additional batteries for longer hours up to 6 hours

But before purchasing a netbook, make sure that you get it only from trusted brands such as Lenovo. If there are no Lenovo stores nearest you, make sure that the retail store offering Lenovo notebooks are authorized. The ultimate satisfaction of a computing device is the existence of valid warranties in the event of malfunction beyond the user’s control.

Lenovo has established its name in the world of mobile computing as a manufacturer of reliable notebooks. Until recently, Lenovo was producing netbooks that were loaded with the same feature as the notebooks offered by other manufacturers. Not surprisingly, there are cheap Lenovo netbook deals that you can find from various computer stores.

From an average consumer’s point of view, a great deal is one that is cheaper and yet has the same features and capabilities from other competing brands. With this thought, a real great deal is hard to find. Oftentimes, when it is regarded as a cheap Lenovo netbook deals, the first thing that comes to the mind of a “techie” is a second-hand or outdated netbooks.

For it to become a great deal, it must satisfy the following requirements:

The deal comes from an authorized dealer

The netbook is brand new

The netbook is one of the most recent product offers of Lenovo

Prices are discounted for a specific number of days

ounted prices are relatively cheaper than other brands with the same capabilities

Discounted prices are relatively cheaper than other retail stores offering the same product

The retail store or authorized outlet must be in proximity within your residence. After all, there’s no use grabbing a great offer if the shipping charges are too high.

Warranties are guaranteed. Although most mobile computing device comes with the standard one-year warranty, the difference now lies on good product support.

For the record, there is nothing wrong in buying second-hand netbooks for as long as it is still in perfect working condition. However the price should depend on how long it has been used to ensure that you still get the best value for your money. It is equitable that most devices are highly depreciable over time.

Lenovo, formerly called IBM, is known as a manufacturer of quality desktops, laptops, notebook and the most recently, the netbooks. One of the outstanding features of Lenovo netbooks, in general, is its more stable hard drive and faster computing speed. Many netbooks users tell that this computer brand is one of the excellent netbook products in the market. It’s also no surprise that Lenovo netbook owners would argue that the device can be regarded as a notebook, only smaller. No wonder that this former computer manufacturer is regarded as an icon in mobile computing. For users of Lenovo laptops, the Thinkpad Logo can also be seen on netbooks.

Of course, every product has drawbacks too. For Lenovo netbooks, there are no other colors available except for the good old classic black case. It doesn’t steer itself towards the compact, colorful and lightweight trend because the manufacturers want to load the device with many features as possible. Other setback is its short battery life. If a Lenovo netbook is compared to other netbooks in terms of battery hours, then this product will probably lag behind. Of course, for people who wouldn’t mind the weight and the shorter battery life, they will definitely prefer to Lenovo over any other netbooks.

Lenovo’s IdeaPad S10e offers some improved features that were already owned by its predecessor, such as the music player, photo viewer and instant messaging client that are more successful applied in the speed stakes.

Graphic ability of IdeaPad S10e are powered by Intel integrated GMA 950 and the output to a screen with 10.1-inch, TFT, WSVGA, LED with original resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. This produces good contrast and sharp colors, while the coating can reduce reflections from office standard lighting or sun light when you would be using it outside in a sunny day. Lenovo IdeaPad S10e has a 1.3-megapixel camera as well.

This notebook is one of the thinnest and lightest netbook in its class although the extended battery is fitting. Multi-touch features is running well and is claimed as the biggest advantages while the keyboard and touch pad are also easy to use because the layout is large enough and gives enough space to press the buttons, although it seems small in first view but in fact is very user friendly. The biggest crinkle on the S10e is the right Shift key which is located to the right of the up arrow button.

This netbook is working well with consistent performance and can run multitasks and flash at the same time without problems. Special features available in Lenovo IdeaPad S10e are Quick Start Linux OS that feature browsing the web, viewing the photo and many other features that boots in fast time. You can plug in your headset and hear surround audio with Lenovo netbook 3g Dolby. Interestingly, beside XP Home edition you also can operate Mac Os X but for it you require a copy of the MSIWindowsx86.iso distribution and an external USB DVD drive to boot the ISO.

Major difference of appearance with previous edition is a change in screen size that is reduced from 10.2″ to 10.1″ which apparently makes it ready for the targeted segment – students at school.

Despite being targeted for young people, Lenovo IdeaPad S10e has a well-done design that is enough to appeal to mature people. The growing sales show that users of this netbook are coming from various segments.

Gradually Lenovo’s netbook has changed from business use to personal with Lenovo ultra portable netbook. It has Splashtop, an integrated Linux-based OS that previously was not available in the Lenovo IdeaPad S10. Lenovo S10E Netbook with Atom 10.1 inch Netbook is well built and has an expansion slot. The battery lasts a long time and the keyboard is easy to use and it is especially loved by students –the main target market – who take S10e education netbook all the time everywhere!

The price for this netbook is set to a reasonable rate so it will be interesting for many potential users. It seems Lenovo has made a nearly perfect balance with IdeaPad S10e.

The materials of the netbook are not only good but promise a long life, and the pledged build quality is truly exceptional at this price point, moreover this device has a Lenovo repair center warranty. Lenovo S10e build quality inspires confidence as you handle it with ease. It also has a curiously workable keyboard.

For the most affordable price, the cheap Lenovo netbook deals are the cheapest for a 10″ screen. At £249, it gives an affordable price compared to the competitors’ hp netbook which significantly increases Lenovo netbook sales. It is different from most netbooks out there which make you think twice to upgrade their components. This advantage is one of advantages that many have discussed in Lenovo s10e reviews.

IdeaPad S10e has a trick up its sleeve in the form of a 34mm ExpressCard, and other benefits including mobile broadband modem or Lenovo s10e-wifi that specifically will be more advantageous than other brands like Samsung NC10 that lack this device along with additional USB or Firewire ports or an e-SATA card. The rest of the ports are common standard for a netbook; two USB, two audio and a VGA out port. You will also found a 4-in-1 card reader built on the left-hand side.

Space for storage is a 5,400rpm, 160GB hard drive with pre-loaded Windows XP Home. Connecting the IdeaPad S10e to the outside world is easy enough with 802.11a/b WiFi and 10/100Mbps wired Ethernet, while Bluetooth 2.0 lets it talk to other devices.

Lenovo Idea Pad S10 offers a few unique features and is stylish in looks. Lenovo S10 with good appearance is simple in origin and the material is made from a plastic that resists fingerprints. The switch has a tasteful finishing touch and the rounded edges give the S10 design a very thin shape and symmetrical design. Compared to other competing 10-inch netbooks, Lenovo S10 appears thinner, though it’s not necessarily lighter. The IdeaPad S10 is designed for cheap, low-powered light mobile computing. The products are designed for educated markets.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 netbook is equipped with 3G capability and Dolby headphone technology. This netbook offers a 10” diagonal screen on the IdeaPad S10; it’s commonly to be what most consumers are interesting when looking at netbooks. Lenovo has built quality generally perceived as one of the best in the notebook market and Lenovo is being aggressive with their pricing; offering the S10 out to market at $399 with a well-rounded feature, combining tiny technology and portability.

The keyboard size has 85 percent of full size of standard PC keyboard that is more spacious and comfortable than those found on 9-inch netbooks. Most of the keys are positioned correctly, except the right Shift key which is placed to the right of the Up arrow. The battery can sustain up to 3 hours with 3-cell battery and up to 6 hours with 6-cell battery.

According to Lenovo’s official statement: “Lenovo S10 uses the Intel Atom processor that provides basic notebook functionality as a user’s secondary PC. Lenovo offers the IdeaPad S10 in two configurations, with one having 512 MB of memory and an 80 GB hard drive and the other configuration having 1 GB of memory and a 160 GB hard drive. The processing performance and storage makes the IdeaPad S10 ideal for accommodating a variety of data, from a user’s digital music inventory to a student’s homework assignments and more. Lenovo engineered the IdeaPad S10 netbook to reduce the heat emitted on key contact areas such as the bottom of the PC, the palm rest and the keyboard. Additionally, Lenovo’s OneKey Rescue System helps users recover data at the touch of a button should a system error or a virus occurs”.

There is a really solid and string feel to the design of the Lenovo netbook, which should ensure it can handle all the bumps and scrapes that can come from having the portable nature of the netbook. Even though it is solid, it should still be light enough even for children to carry around with them. The fact that netbooks are intended for use on the move lends itself well to the way that people want to keep their friends updated with their life and the Express card slot on the netbook should ensure that pictures are able to be updated on a regular basis. With 2 USB slots as well, there is ample opportunity to customise the machine and even add in a further hard drive if so required.

The screen display size of 10.2” should be enough to please the vast majority of users and the resolution of 1024 x 600 will ensure there is no problem with viewing websites, again giving a benefit to the person on the go. Netbooks are not something to be used all the time, and the batter life of the Lenovo netbook will ensure that people need to recharge on a regular basis but for the intended usage, this netbook should provide comfortable use.

The size of the keyboard is roughly about 85% of the standard keyboard size and stands in between the options offered by the netbook industry. As always, it is a matter of personal taste and choice as to whether this size is acceptable to you but there are certainly no major flaws or issues with this type of keyboard.

With a boot time of under a minute, anyone should be able to have their Lenovo netbook up and running in no time at all and with a wide range of colors to choose from, there should be no complaints about the style of this fashionable little machine. There are clearly a lot of firms operating in this field but the success of the Lenovo range should see them stand as a worthy adversary for the more notable names in the industry.
