The name Dell is renowned as one of the respectable manufacturers of computer systems. Their line of products started with quality desktops packed with top-of-the-line features. To date, their product line expanded from servers to home entertainment systems.
During the last three years, consumers saw the rise of cheaper and smaller notebooks called ‘netbooks’. Thanks to Asus’ EEE PC, this product has set the high point for mobile computing devices. It’s like opening the doors to unreached market as well as paved the way for other computer manufacturers to make the same type of notebook.

However, companies such as Dell are reluctant to invest on the newest type of mobile computers which is the netbook for a number of reasons:
- The selling price is cheaper
- The need to pack all the regular features of a desktop into a 10-inch notebook. Pressure is put on the manufacturers as this is compared to putting too much power in a single screw.
- Difficult to establish a set of standard features for all notebooks
- Notebook prices are not changing but its features are constantly advancing. For instance, you buy a $400 worth of notebook today, for the next few months; the price of the same brand new notebook will be lesser. The notebook you will get for the same price will now have more advanced features.
With such hindrances on its production, the demand for it is still increasing. The desktop products have already established its identity as one of the best computer system there is. The question now looms: will Dell take the notebook market? The answer is a definite “Yes”! To date, Dell has been regarded as the third leading manufacturers of quality notebooks.
Dell’s secret is not a mystery. In fact every computer geek will definitely figure it out outright. The secret lies in the dedication of Dell to know the customer’s demand and utmost satisfaction. Even at the face of difficulty producing fully-loaded notebooks, the company never stopped to produce what the customers need. Good customer service and direct contact with their customers have probably given the Dell manufacturers the chance to produce notebooks that will increase client satisfaction. Unlike other brands where customers are made to expect for what has been advertised and marketed by its respective companies, Dell built and designed notebooks based on client requests right at their facilities.
In terms of quality, Dell notebooks are regarded as the toughest ones around. It survived the rough test done by experts to determine how far Dell notebook can withstand conditions such as:
- Extreme heat
- Ice
- Free fall impact
- Liquid spills
The result was that Dell notebooks are one step ahead of its competitors. With its toughness, the price is also competitive which gives the consumer the best value for their money.
In the face of its competitors, Dell never failed to deliver the best they can have and does it best to never pale in comparison with other products having the same features and capabilities.
